Canterbury College is one of Queensland's premier co-educational Preschool/Prep – Year 12 independent day schools located on the south side of Brisbane in Waterford. Canterbury is renowned for its quality of academic sporting cultural service and spiritual programs operating within an Anglican ethos. Academic Excellence
Canterbury College is extremely proud of the successful academic outcomes students achieve across all level in the Literacy and Numeracy tests for Years 3 and 9 together with positive results achieved by Year 12 Canterbury graduates receiving an OP or successful apprenticeship. Artistic Opportunities
The school is well renowned for Music excellence with a multi million dollar specialist Arts Centre specifically designed and built to enhance the artistic development of all students. A number of musical groups recently came first in the Beenleigh Eisteddfod and our internationally acclaimed multi-award winning girls choir cantabile Have won six silver medals at the World Choir Olympics in the past two competitions.
A Resource Rich Multi-million Dollar Campus
Our modern technologically advanced state-of-the-art facilities such as the multi-million-dollar Arts Centre the fully equipped Sports Hall the Technology Precinct and the new fully air-conditioned Junior School and Middle School facilities ensure that all students have access to enhanced learning areas on a daily basis. The College recently completed a major $13. 6 million building project incorporate air-conditioning and the upgrade of existing facilities in the Junior School (Preschool/Prep – Year 6) and the Middle School (Years 7 – 9). The project encompassed a new state-of-the-art two story building housing 12 new Junior School classrooms refurbishment of existing Preschool – Year 6 Junior School classrooms anew P-6 Library incorporating a specifically designed Information Communication and Technology facility the development of a Years 7-9 Middle School precinct with larger classrooms shade covers and a central focus hub for our Middle School students. The development of facilities has further enhanced our students' learning and facilitates our teachers' delivery of curriculum in a more conducive setting to ensure Canterbury remains as one of Queensland's leading best practice Preschool/Prep – Year 12 co-educational schools.
