The International School of Schaffhausen offers a high quality international education for students of all ages, including a childcare centre. We are an authorized IB World School offering all three International Baccalaureate programmes: the Diploma Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Primary Years Programme. We also offer a Boarding Programme for students aged 15-19 as part of our Junior College.

ISSH was founded in 1999 with the vision to give young people more than a traditional education. The IB programmes combine the newest approaches to learning and teaching with an international perspective on curriculum content.

The main language of instruction at the ISSH is English, with a strong focus on German for our young learners. Special attention is also paid to the mother tongue and German as well as to the relation to Switzerland and the region.

We are a certified IB World School and teach according to the Primary Program PYP and the Middle Years Program MYP (Orientation and Intermediate Level) as well as the Diploma Program DP (Matura Level) of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB).

We are politically, ideologically and religiously independent, but we build on clearly defined basic values. We want to develop the talents of our students, educate them to become independent, self-confident and responsible people so that they can assert themselves and make their contribution in a globalized world.

Friendships are formed between people of very different cultures, often lasting a lifetime. At present, about 240 students from 37 nations attend our international privates school in Schaffhausen.
