Asia Pacific International School educates
students in a loving and caring Christian
environment to become globally enlightened citizens,
who can bridge between East and West and embrace
exciting challenges of the New Pacific Century.
A Place to Grow
The 97-acre APIS Hawai‘i campus nestled against an
emerald green mountain that overlooks the vast
Pacific Ocean on the North Shore of O‘ahu is a safe
learning environment where students build
relationships, explore their passions, and become
leaders. Students at the Hawai‘i campus explore its
abundant natural resources, learning about cultural
heritage, environment, and a sustainable future.

New Pacific Century
For APIS, the New Pacific Century is the term we use
to describe the new emerging era. The New Pacific
Century emphasizes not only the growing significance
of Asia, but also the relationship or interaction
between East and West as the vital driving force
behind the global economic, political, and social
order.
Core Curricular Emphasis:
APIS's Core Curriculum prepares students for the New
Pacific Century through a balanced focus on East
Asian Studies, Performing and Visual Arts, STEM, and
Spiritual Growth. Students develop cross-cultural
understanding and empathy as they learn to navigate
between East and West, express creativity and
emotional intelligence through the arts, and build
strong STEM foundations for future innovation.
Guided by Christian values, APIS nurtures each
student's spiritual growth and inspires them to
pursue the passions and purpose God has placed in
their hearts.
Classrooms without walls
We believe the school of the New Pacific Century
must be all about people and places. We are a small
learning community by design - where every student
is known, valued, and cared for. We harness the
power of place to make learning engaging and
authentic. APIS envisions classrooms without walls,
where students experience the world around them,
travelling across the globe and learning meaningful
lessons from their communities.
Global network of schools
To leverage the power of place-based education, APIS
has established a global network of schools under
one educational philosophy: our East Asia school in
Seoul, South Korea, and our school in the West,
Hawai‘i, U.S. However, APIS Seoul and APIS Hawai‘i
are two separate schools operating independently
with a shared founding mission and educational
philosophy that collaborates to provide global
education opportunities for their students.
Middle School
APIS Middle School empowers students to explore
their passions through a personalized, project-based
curriculum that integrates core subjects with
real-world problem solving. Small classes foster
strong relationships and individualized instruction,
helping students develop critical thinking,
communication, collaboration, and citizenship
skills. With advanced math options, diverse
electives in languages, arts, and STEM, and
opportunities for expert engagement and exhibitions,
APIS prepares students to think deeply, connect
learning across disciplines, and thrive in a
changing world.
High School
APIS High School students experience a rigorous
college-preparatory education grounded in
project-based learning and enriched by the unique
resources of our islands and global connections.
Through partnerships with international experts, our
South Korea campus, extended internships, and dual
enrollment with the University of Hawaii, students
apply critical thinking, communication,
collaboration, and citizenship skills to real-world
learning and service. Graduates of APIS Hawaii have
earned acceptances at the top U.S. universities and
colleges.
Boarding at APIS
Within the caring APIS ‘ohana, boarding students
build lifelong global friendships and gain the
confidence to pursue their highest aspirations.
Residing in air-conditioned dorms supervised by
faculty dorm parents, students learn independence
through managing their time, space, and
relationships. Each shared room for two students
includes new desks, closets, and beds, and boarders
enjoy full access to campus facilities such as the
swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts, hiking
trails, soccer and volleyball fields, fitness center,
and game room. Weekends feature supervised
activities both on campus and around the island of
O‘ahu.
